CAMERON, TX (KXXV) - Crews had to use the Jaws of Life to get a 46-year-old Cameron woman out of her pickup truck after she drove through and crashed in a Cameron park Tuesday morning.

The Cameron Police Department got a call about a major accident, just after 8:30 a.m., in the 400 block of East 22nd St., at the Cameron Master Gardner's Gazebo and Flower Conservatory.

Responding officers and fire crews found that a white pickup had drove through the park, hit several street signs, drove through a gazebo, then flipped after hitting a stone retaining wall.

The driver, identified as Vivian Stephens, was trapped inside, and crews had to use the Jaws of Life to get her out. She was taken to the Little River Health Care Center to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. It is expected she will be transported to Scott & White in Temple.

Witnesses told police that the truck was traveling at a high rate of speed before driving through the park. Police do not believe alcohol was a factor in the accident. The accident is still under investigation.
