One dead, two injured in Bell County rollover accident

BELL COUNTY, TX (KXXV) - One person was killed and at least two others were taken to a local hospital after a rollover accident near Little River Academy Thursday afternoon.

DPS Trooper Harpin Myers says the accident occurred on Old 95, near Little River Academy, when there was a single vehicle rollover with four people inside. Myers says the accident might have been been caused by slick tires, which caused the vehicle to rollover.

Two people in the vehicle were ejected while it rolled. The person who was killed was wearing a seat belt, but DPS says she was partially ejected and the vehicle rolled over her. DPS identifies the woman as 66-year-old Hazel Nopupi and she was pronounced dead at 12:55 p.m.

Two other people were taken to Baylor Scott & White with unknown injuries.

Trooper Myers says they were not coming back from the funeral held for Police Chief Lee Dixon in Temple Thursday.
