California man arrested in Killeen for attempted murder charge

KILLEEN - A 35-year-old California man has been arrested by U.S. Marshals in Killeen for a California charge where he is accused of shooting a person twice.

Shane Michael Davis, of Riverside, CA, has been charged with a 2nd degree felony charge of attempted murder for a May 2014 shooting. Davis was arrested by U.S. Marshals Monday night.

Authorities say Davis was involved in an incident in Riverside County in May, and is accused of shooting someone twice, once in the chest and once in the arm.

Investigators found that Davis was staying in the Killeen area. They contacted the U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force to help them.

The LSFTF set up surveillance at a home in the 3200 block of Hereford and saw Davis outside the home. The arrested Davis, and during their search of Davis, they found a .40-caliber Glock model 23.

Davis was taken to the Bell County Jail, where he is waiting for extradition to California. He could face additional charges in Texas.

“No matter where a fugitive runs, the U.S. Marshals will always track you down,” said Robert Almonte, Western District of Texas U.S. Marshal.
