MCLENNAN COUNTY - Testimony is set to begin Tuesday in 54th District Court in the trial of a 39-year-old woman accused of being involved in the stabbing death of her mother back in 2008. Testimony was set to begin at 9 a.m., but the trial was delayed to 1 p.m. Tuesday after prosecution entered a journal as new evidence.

Yalanda Renee Lind was indicted in June 2012 and charged on three counts. She was charged with two capital murder charges for stabbing and cutting her mother, Rebecca Leonard, and aggravated assault for the stabbing Leonard's boyfriend, Jerry Patterson.

In January 2013, McLennan County prosecutors announced they wouldn't seek the death penalty against Lind.

Linds' boyfriend Jeremy Lowrey pleaded guilty to attempted capital murder and capital murder in this case, and is serving two life sentences concurrently. He will be eligible for parole after 30 years.
