Man in custody following short pursuit with police

Posted:
KILLEEN - One man is in custody after Killeen police pursued him for about two minutes Tuesday afternoon, following an attempted stop for a traffic violation.

Police say chase speeds did not exceed 55 miles per hour. The initial stop was at Hereford Ln. and W Elms Rd., and the driver was eventually stopped in the 3300 block of Barcelona.

The driver was seen throwing items out of his car window. Police have recovered the items and they are being tested to determine if drugs were involved.

As of 5 p.m. Wednesday evening, the driver is being held on a charge of evading arrest in a motor vehicle. Police have not yet released the name of the driver.
