Police seek witnesses of May motorcycle wreck in Waco

WACO, TX (KXXV) - Waco police are asking for the public's help identifying the person who left the scene of a crash back in May, that left a motorcyclist injured.

Just before 3:30 p.m. on May 30, police say a 2002 Harley motorcycle was southbound on Steinbeck Bend, near the intersection of Sydney Dr. The motorcyclist was behind a pickup truck, which is believed to be white, and had a large metal hog trap/cage in the bed of the truck.

The trap slid off the bed of the truck, and the biker wrecked trying to avoid the trap. The motorcyclist had broken bones and a punctured lung because of the wreck. He was taken to a local hospital by ambulance.

The pickup truck left the scene of the crash.

Waco PD is asking anyone that saw the crash or who may know the driver of the truck, to call Detective Justin Lauderdale at 254-750-3620 or call Crime Stoppers at 254-753-HELP. Callers can remain anonymous.
