UPDATE: 11-year-old Bellmead boy seriously injured in car accident identified

BELLMEAD - An 11-year-old Bellmead boy was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after falling out of the window of a car Monday afternoon.

At 3:48 p.m., Bellmead police and emergency crews were called to the 2100 block of Old Dallas Road. They found an 11-year-old breathing but unconscious.

Bellmead police say 11-year-old David Baker fell out of the window a moving car. Police say they don't suspect foul play, though they are still investigating the accident. They haven't arrested anyone and don't plan to.

Baker was taken to Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Medical Center with life threatening injuries. As of Tuesday afternoon, the child was in critical, but stable condition.

Police believe the child was sitting on the door and window frame of a car his 17-year-old sister was driving. When the car turned into a driveway, the boy fell out of the car and hit his head on the pavement.

The incident is still under investigation.
