Temple airport completes largest project in its history

TEMPLE, TX (KXXV) - Temple's Draughon-Miller Central Texas Regional Airport has completed construction on the largest project in its history.

The $8 million dollar project was to reconstruct the secondary runway 02/20, which is 4,800 foot long. It is used for crosswind training, flight training and helicopter operations, according to a release from Temple.

Taxiways serving both runways were also fixed, along with the aircraft parking apron as part of the project. Backup emergency generators were also installed to power the airfield lighting and navigation aids, the fuel farm and the operations building.
