UPDATE: Man dies from stabbing outside Waco cafe, suspect sought

WACO, TX (KXXV) - UPDATE: One man has died after being stabbed in the chest during an argument outside a Waco cafe.

The stabbing occurred sometime after noon Friday, in the 1000 block of Cleveland Ave., after two men got in an argument about a woman being hit by a car door. Officers arrived on the scene and found that Tamar Hinley had been stabbed in the chest by another man.

Police say Hinley and another man were arguing while inside The Gospel Cafe, when the argument got physical, and the men then took it outside. They were fighting in the street, when one of the men stabbed Hinley in the chest.

The victim was seriously wounded and taken to a local hospital for treatment, where Hinley was pronounced dead a short time later.

The stabbing suspect fled the scene on foot, and police are still searching for him as the investigation continues. Special Crimes, Victim Services and Waco Crime Scene Unit helped in the investigation. Police believe they know who the suspect is, but will not release his name until a warrant is issued.
