Felony charges filed against former Abbott ISD teacher

ABBOTT - A former Abbott ISD teacher has been charged for having an improper relationship with a student, who was 14-years-old.

Investigators with the Hill County Sheriff's Office filed three charges against Crystal Miller on Tuesday. Charges of indecency with a child, online solicitation of a minor and improper relationship between educator and student were filed with the District Attorney's Office. Each of those charges are 2nd degree felonies, and her bond has been set at $5,000 for each count.

The victim's family told the Hill County Sheriff's Office about the possible improper relationship between Miller and a student, who was a 14-year-old boy. This came after a parent saw a conversation on Facebook. Search warrants were served on Miller's phone and Facebook account.

Deputies were able to obtain the warrants based on the forensic interview of the victim, and evidence from Miller's cell phone and Facebook account.

Miller turned herself in to Hill County deputies Wednesday afternoon and was arraigned and processed. She posted a cash bond and was released.
