Crash in Coryell County leaves one man dead

CORYELL COUNTY, TX (KXXV) - DPS confirms working a fatality accident Wednesday morning in Coryell County, where one man was killed and another person was taken to a hospital.

According to DPS, the accident occurred on FM 116, north of Copperas Cove, about 5 a.m. Wednesday. The victim, identified as 32-year-old Juston Witting of Killeen, a TDCJ employee, was northbound on FM 116 near Perryman Creek, in a 2006 Saturn.

DPS Trooper Harpin Myer says the driver was passing several cars, and sideswiped one, then lost control of his vehicle. He went off the road and crashed. Witting was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the other vehicle involved, 35-year-old David Lohman, was transported to Darnall Army Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
