Human remains found in Buckholts, waiting for positive identification

BUCKHOLTS, TX (KXXV) - Human remains were found in Buckholts on Saturday, and authorities believe they could be the remains of a person reported missing five weeks earlier, but they cannot confirm the identity of the remains until it has gone through forensic analysis.

Volunteer crews with Search Dog Network of Bryan and Milam County Sheriff’s Deputies searched the wooded area north of Milam County Road 104 in Buckholts. They were searching Saturday morning for Travis Curry, who had been reported missing five weeks before.

Just four hours into the search, a team found human remains. Milam County Sheriff's Investigators processed the area and released the remains to Marek, Burns and Laywell Funeral Home. They were then transported to the Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy and to see if they can positively identify the remains.

Authorities cannot confirm the identity of the remain without forensic analysis.

Milam County Sheriff David Greene commended the search teams of Search Dog Network saying, "It is amazing how incredibly dedicated and thorough those teams are."
