WACO, TX (KXXV) - Police have arrested a 19-year-old man in connection with a robbery at gunpoint and shooting that occurred late Thursday night in Waco.

At 10:45 p.m. Thursday, Waco officers were called out to N. 25th and Edna on a shots fired call. Responding officers were told someone involved was in the 3600 block of N. 25th. There, officers found a 25-year-old man who had been robbed and shot.

Police investigated and found that the victim had been robbed at gunpoint near the intersection of N. 27th and Woodrow. The victim told police that at least two men in a small black SUV robbed him of his shoes and a phone. The victim tried to run away during the robbery, and one of the men shot him twice in the lower body.

The victim was transported to Hillcrest to be treated for non-life threatening injuries, and was later released.

During their investigation of the robbery, officers were called about a disturbance in the parking lot of a convenience store in the 2000 block N. 25th St. Police found a vehicle there that matched the small black SUV description involved in the robbery. They tried to stop the SUV, and two men ran from the vehicle.

Officers caught one of the men running from the car and arrested him. Police also recovered a weapon from the SUV. Clyde Vonzell Forcey is charged with unlawfully carrying a weapon and evading arrest on foot.

Police are still investigating the aggravated robbery and shooting.
