Authorities investigating Bellmead auto-pedestrian accident

BELLMEAD - Authorities in Bellmead are investigating an auto-pedestrian accident that happened Wednesday night.

The wreck happened on Loop 340 and Bellmead Dr., just after 9:30 p.m. Bellmead police and medical personnel were called out to the wreck.

Our crew on the scene saw first responders helping out someone in the roadway. When officers and medical personnel arrived on the scene, the pedestrian was breathing and responsive. The pedestrian was transported to an unknown medical facility with non-life threatening injuries.

Police discovered that the vehicle was eastbound on North Loop 340 and the pedestrian was hit after walking out in front of the vehicle. The driver immediately stopped and called 911 to report the accident.

The driver, who was not injured, was questioned and later released. No charges have been filed at this time.

Police report the pedestrian is currently in ICU, but in stable condition.
