MIDDLETOWN, Pa., May 21, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Pennsylvania Lottery has sold its first jackpot-winning Mega Millions® ticket, a $149 million prize from the Tuesday, May 20, drawing.  The jackpot-winning ticket was sold at White Oak Gas & Grocery, 1100 Fawcett Ave., McKeesport, Allegheny County.

The winning ticket correctly matched all five white balls, 10-40-63-64-69, plus the

Megaball, 07. The ticket has an annuity value of $149 million or a cash value of $86.1 million, less 25 percent federal withholding.

The retailer will receive a $100,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

This is the Pennsylvania Lottery's first jackpot-winning Mega Millions ticket since joining the multi-state game in 2010. The Pennsylvania Lottery has sold 17 jackpot-winning Powerball® tickets since joining that multi-state game in 2002.

The Mega Millions jackpot had been rolling since the last jackpot was won in California on April 4.

The prize must be claimed and the ticket validated before Lottery officials can identify the winner. Pennsylvania Lottery Mega Millions winners have one year from the drawing date to claim prizes.

The Lottery encourages the holder of the winning ticket to sign the back of the ticket, call the Lottery at 717-702-8146 and file a claim at Lottery headquarters in Middletown, Dauphin County. Claims may be filed at Lottery headquarters Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

More than 93,600 Pennsylvania Lottery Mega Millions tickets won prizes of varying amounts in last night's drawing. Players should check every ticket, every time.

In the 2012-13 fiscal year, in addition to awarding more than $231.3 million in prizes to Allegheny County winners, the Pennsylvania Lottery contributed more than $127.9 million to programs serving the county's older residents.

How to Play Mega Millions: Mega Millions tickets cost $1 per play. Players pick five numbers from 1 to 75 and one number from 1 to 15 (the Mega Ball). Players may select their own numbers using a Mega Millions play slip, or they may opt for computer-selected quick picks.

For an extra $1 per play, players can add the Megaplier. Prior to the Mega Millions drawing, the Megaplier number – ranging from two to five – is randomly selected. The Megaplier applies to non-jackpot prizes.

Mega Millions tickets are sold in 43 states, Washington, D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Drawings are held on Tuesdays and Fridays. Learn more about the game online at www.megamillions.com.
