WACO, TX (KXXV) - Police have arrested a 30-year-old man accused of ripping off a local temp agency by getting over $5,000 in wages, for time he did not work.

Otis Marcell Jackson has been charged with theft over $1,500, but under $20,000.

Sgt. Patrick Swanton says this case was reported to Waco police on Feb. 20, by a local temp agency. Jackson was assigned as a temporary worker with a local business.

Jackson is accused of reporting to work, filling out a time sheet, then leaving. Police say this went on for more than two months to the tune of $5,414.22 in wages for which he did not work.

Jackson was finally caught when the temp agency noticed that he turned in a time sheet for a day that the business was not open. At that point, the employer checked and told the agency that he had not been there for some time. The investigation began after that.
