CRANFILLS GAP - Three people, including the mayor of the small Bosque County town of Cranfills Gap, have been arrested in connection with supplying alcohol to minors and public intoxication during a weekend incident.

A deputy stopped a pickup that had been spotted speeding, shortly before midnight Saturday night. Cranfills Gap Mayor, 43-year-old Russel Algren, along with 36-year-old Melody Jones and 34-year-old Tracy Finstad were in the back of the pickup, and two underage teens were in the front.

The three adults were charged with public intoxication, and Finstad and Jones were charged with providing alcohol to minors.

Algren was also charged with allowing an unlicensed person to operate a motor vehicle.

All three were taken to the Bosque County Jail, where they posted bond and were released.
