KOSSE - A Kosse volunteer firefighter is on suspension after being arrested for impersonating a public servant.

Leonard Popham was arrested after police say he tried to pull over a couple on Highway 6, near Riesel. Popham was allegedly driving a white pickup, when he used lights, a siren and a loud speaker to make the stop.

The couple thought something was fishy and called 911.

The Kosse Volunteer Fire Department released a statement regarding the situation, and it reads, "In light of the recent arrest of Leonard Popham this department has suspended his membership effective immediately, pending the outcome of the trial."
