An 18-year-old Temple high school senior is killed and six people were taken to the hospital in a Friday night crash.

It happened just before 10 p.m. on Airport Road. Police say a pickup was westbound and at some point, crossed into the eastbound lanes, smashing into a car and an SUV. 18-year-old Kimberlyn Brooke Longbotham was driving the car and was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. On Saturday morning, she died from her injuries.

The driver of the pickup was ejected and taken to the hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries, according to police. Calvin Vickers, of Temple, died Thursday, May 8, at Scott and White Hospital from injuries received from the crash.

The SUV had two adults and three children inside and all five were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police are reconstructing the accident to find out what happened as the investigation continues.

The Temple community came together Saturday night to remember their classmate Kimberlyn Longbotham. Friends and family released balloons, each with a message of remembrance for their fallen friend.

A group of people from the Temple/Belton community are trying to raise money for Kimberlyn's funeral costs, her hospital bills, and possibly a scholarship in her name. Here is the link if you would like to donate: http://www.gofundme.com/8vp5fk
