Waco to hold household hazardous waste collection day

WACO - The City of Waco will be holding a household hazardous waste collection day on Saturday, May 3, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The collection will be held at the Solid Waste Operations Center, at 501 Schroeder Dr., off Franklin Ave. Residents will need to show a current city water bill and driver's license. The collection is only for residents in Waco, Hewitt, Lorena, Woodway, and Lacy Lakeview.

City officials say the collection process will be easy for residents. All they have to do is drive up and bring their hazardous waste.

"You don't have to do any lifting. We will unload the car for them including the tires, including the big projection TV you may have," said Anna Dunbar, Recycling & Public Outreach Administrator. "So it will be an easy event for folks they just need to be a little patient."
