TEMPLE, TX (KXXV) - Two women are behind bars after police say they burglarized a man's home while he was spending a night in jail.

Cora Elvia Arias, 38, has been charged with burglary of a habitation with intent to commit another felony and Delma Leevana Rodriguez, 38, faces a charge of burglary of a building-attempted.

Temple officers were called out to a home in the 600 block of Twin Oaks Dr. on March 30, about a burglary report. The alleged victim told police that he was arrested the day before and was in the Bell County Jail until the morning of March 30.

When he returned home, he found that someone had stolen clothing, a TV, shoes, cash, and perfume from his home while he was in jail.

Police investigated the burglary and found that Cora Aria and a friend, identified as Delma Rodriguez, were involved in the burglary.

The Bell County District Attorney’s Office reviewed the case on Tuesday, April 28, and issued a complaint charging Aria and Rodriguez in connection with the burglary. Arrest warrants were then issued for their arrest.

Both Aria and Rodriguez were arrested by Temple officers on Wednesday, April 30 without incident.
