Temple man faces assault charges after police called out 3 times

TEMPLE, TX (KXXV) - A 33-year-old Temple man was arrested after police say they were called out three separate times on assault calls.

Justin Dwight Stonum faces three charges of assault causes bodily injury to a family member. His bond is set at $17,500 combined for the charges.

Officers were first called out to a home in the 3000 block of Trenton Dr. on January 13 about a domestic disturbance. Police say Stonum is accused of assaulting a family member. A warrant was issued for Stonum following an investigation into the incident.

Police were called out to the same home on March 11 about another domestic disturbance. Stonum was again accused of assaulting a family member and a warrant was issued for Stonum following an investigation.

Then, on April 23, officers were called out to a home in the 1100 block of W. Adams Ave. about a domestic disturbance. A third warrant was filed against Stonum for this incident.

Police conducted a traffic stop in the 800 block of S. 18th St. on Tuesday, April 29. The driver of the vehicle, identified as Justin Stonum, had three active arrest warrants for assault out of Temple. Stonum was taken into custody without incident. Police also found drug paraphernalia on him and a citation was issued for that.
