Man killed in Killeen overnight shooting identified

KILLEEN - Killeen police are investigating an overnight shooting that killed a 36-year-old Killeen man.

Officers responded to 302 Wolf Street just after 2 a.m. Wednesday morning. Police found a man in the parking lot of a Killeen apartment complex with gunshot wounds to his chest.

He was transported to Darnall Army Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 2:47 a.m. An autopsy has been ordered to be performed at the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas. Police have identified the victim as 36-year-old SungJin Farris.

During their investigation, police determined that this was not a drive-by shooting, as was earlier reported.

Police are still investigating the shooting, and detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division are processing the scene.
