Killeen woman and daughter displaced by fire

KILLEEN, TX (KXXV) - A Killeen woman and her daughter have been displaced by a Tuesday morning fire.

About 3 a.m. Tuesday morning, a neighbor reported to the fire department that smoke was pouring out of a car parked in the 4900 block of Mikey in Killeen. Fire crews arrived and noticed the car was parked in a driveway. The fire spread from the vehicle to the garage and attic, where a woman and her daughter were trapped.

They were able to escape the flames, and the Red Cross is providing them with shelter. The exact cause of the fire has not been determined, and the incident is still under investigation.
