4-year-old in critical condition after nearly drowning

LIMESTONE COUNTY - UPDATE: Limestone County Sheriff Dennis Wilson has confirmed that the 4-year-old boy who was in critical condition after nearly drowning Tuesday afternoon, died Wednesday, April 30, at the McLane Children's Hospital in Temple.



A 4-year-old boy is in critical condition at McLane Children's Hospital in Temple after nearly drowning in his grandmother's pool.

Limestone County Sheriff Dennis Wilson says the boy's grandmother found him in the pool of their Limestone County home. The grandmother got him out of the pool and he was unresponsive.

Limestone County Sheriff's Deputies and members of the Marlin Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene and began CPR.

The child was airlifted to McLane Children's Hospital with CPR being conducted en route. He is currently in critical condition.
