Killeen church names new pastor after losing pastors in car accident

KILLEEN, TX (KXXV) - Six months after the Grace Christian Center lost three of their pastors in a car accident, they're now naming a new one.

Back in October 2013, Senior Pastors Terry and Jan Whitley and Associate Pastor Steve Timmerman were killed when their vehicle flipped just north of Austin in Pflugerville. Ever since then, the Grace Christian Center says they've struggled with moving forward.

Monday night, the church will be celebrating the announcement of pastor Mark Price as its new senior pastor with an event at the Killeen Civic Center at 7 p.m.

Price has been in full-time ministry for 25 years, where he's served as a Youth Pastor, Worship Pastor, and Associate Pastor. He is the child of former pastors who preached at numerous churches throughout Texas and Oklahoma for over 40 years.

He says he's excited to be taking on this new role at the Grace Christian Center, and he also says he hopes his new position will allow him to help people find their spiritual gifts and callings while the church still mourns the loss of their former pastors.
