UPDATE: Water lines repaired at Waco VA Hospital

WACO - UPDATE: All patient care buildings at the VA Hospital in Waco are back in full operation after they lost water pressure Wednesday.

Crews finished repairing the damaged water main connection on Thursday, and then had to flush the water lines.

The water will be tested for bacteria, and until those test come back negative, bottled water will be provided to veterans, visitors and staff. Those test are expected to come back next week.

The Waco VA Medical Center is without running water since Wednesday night because of a loss in water pressure.

A VA spokesperson says they don't know why they lost water pressure from the tower, but they're trying to figure it out and fix it. The Waco/ McLennan County Office of Emergency Management and Fort Hood have been called to help them with an alternate water source.

They are distributing bottled water to patients so they can have drinking water, and they are using a temporary water supply so patients can flush toilets.

All Waco VA outpatient appointments for Thursday, April 17, have been canceled. We will post an update when everything is back up and running.
