Pack of Pit Bulls attack three, including two children

KILLEEN, TX (KXXV) - Killeen police are investigating a dog attack after witnesses say a pack of pit bulls attacked two children and one adult, Monday.

The attack happened at 4 p.m. on Cody Poe Road and Armadillo Drive in Killeen. When police arrived at the scene, witnesses told them they saw three pit bulls attack a 12-year-old girl, a 11-year-old boy and a 26-year-old woman who was trying to help the children get away from the dogs.

Police found all three victims, who suffered from multiple puncture wounds, and the aggressive dogs behind 2703 Cody Poe Road. Officers had to shoot one of the dogs to stop the attack.

The 12-year-old girl was taken to Scott & White's Children's Hospital in stable condition. The boy and woman were transported to Metroplex Hospital, also in stable condition. Animal control took custody of the injured dog, but the other two pit bulls fled after the shots were fired.

Killeen police have not released the names of the victims yet but this case remains under investigation.
