Copperas Cove woman arrested on drug charges

COPPERAS COVE, TX (KXXV) - A Copperas Cove woman is facing marijuana charges following an investigation into an amount of marijuana that police say was packaged for sale.

Pilar Carol Whittington has been charged with possession of marijuana under five pounds.

Police had responded to a home in the 1100 block of Travis Circle, to check a 911 hangup call. The resident told police the call had been made accidentally.

While officers were at the home, they detected a strong smell of marijuana coming from the house. Whittington admitted to smoking weed and handed over the baggies of marijuana, consenting to a search of the house.

Police say officers found more weed that was packaged for sale, empty bags, guns and a digital scale. A warrant was obtained and Whittington was arrested Thursday, April 10.
