WACO, TX (KXXV) - Police have arrested two men accused of stealing jewelry with a total value of more than $100,000 from a Waco home.

Matthew Alan Cummings and Keith Marquez were arrested at a home in the 2400 block of Lyle in connection with a very large jewel theft.

According to police, the stolen jewelry was taken from a home in the 3200 block of Woodlake Dr., on March 8th or 9th, while the residents were away.

The break-in was discovered by a girl who was taking care of the resident's dog. She called police when she noticed a bedroom window had been broken out.

The items taken from the home include: a ring valued at $85,000, another ring valued at $10,000, and a third ring valued at $5,000, several necklaces, with one valued at $15,000, several pins, and diamond earrings valued at $10,000.

In addition to stolen jewelry, a handgun was also taken. Police did not release details of the investigation and how Cummings and Marquez were tracked down.
