Man arrested after hitting parked car while running from police

Posted:
WACO - A 22-year-old man is in the McLennan County Jail after he hit a parked car while fleeing from police, who were trying to stop the man in connection with a previous disturbance call.

Thomas Demonz McCuin faces charges of evading arrest in a motor vehicle, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, evading on foot, failure to stop and ID and a warrant for a previous arrest.

Police say the incident started in the 1200 block of Preston on Monday, when officers were called out to a disturbance call. Officers talked with a victim at the scene, who said that a man had pointed a gun at him during a disagreement, and then ran. The victim was able to give police information about the suspect.

The suspect's vehicle was spotted about 5:30 p.m. Monday night in north Waco, and officers attempted to stop the vehicle. Police say the driver fled, driving through several streets, before hitting a parked car near 11th and Bosque.

The driver, identified as McCuin, then got out and ran. He was chased down by police and taken into custody.
