Man arrested after high speed chase through Central Texas

CENTRAL TEXAS, TX (KXXV) - A man is behind bars after leading local law enforcement on a wild high speed chase through three Central Texas counties.

The driver, 31 year-old Austin resident Milton Hayes, is charged with felony evading arrest with a motor vehicle.

DPS says he was going over a hundred miles per hour north bound in Troy in Bell County, just before 1 a.m. Sunday morning. When the trooper tried to pull him over, instead of stopping, he went even faster.

McLennan County Deputies were able to pop two of the driver’s tires, but even that didn't stop him right away, as Hayes kept going.

After 45 minutes and more than 56 miles, Hayes was finally pulled over in Hillsboro and taken to the Hill County Jail.
