Taylor Montgomery joined News Channel 25 in January 2014. He co-anchors Good Morning Texas with Taheshah Moise and anchors the Texas Report Midday weekdays.
He hails from The Heart of Dixie where he grew up in Bessemer, a suburb of Birmingham, Alabama. He attended The University of Alabama and graduated with a degree in Broadcast News.
Taylor's interest in TV news started when he was just a kid. While still in high school, he interned at WIAT, Birmingham's CBS affiliate. He was an intern production assistant for the station's morning show at just 16 years old.
During his time at The University of Alabama, Taylor worked for nearly three years as a reporter, producer and fill-in weather anchor at WVUA-TV in Tuscaloosa. During his time there he covered the EF-4 tornado that ripped through the city on April 27, 2011. That tornado was part of the largest outbreak of tornadoes ever recorded.
Taylor has held several distinguished internships. They include WSB-TV, in Atlanta and WBRC in Birmingham.
He was recognized by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in 2013. He was a finalist for the Academy's Summer Emmy Foundation Internship program in Los Angeles. He was selected from thousands of applicants.
Taylor also loves working behind the camera. While in Alabama, he put his production skills to work as an Audio Engineer and Camera Operator for the state's largest church.
Taylor loves the outdoors, working on his car, and watching Alabama Football. He's proud to be an Alabamian turned Texan. Find him on Facebook, Twitter or email him at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you see him out and about in Central Texas, say hello!
