HILL COUNTY - Over 200 marijuana plants were found during a search of a Hill County home.

The Hill County Sheriff's Office and federal authorities executed a search warrant shortly before 7 a.m. Wednesday morning on Autumn Trail in Carl's Corner.

Authorities discovered at least 200 marijuana plants and about 15 bags of buds at the location. Sheriff Michael Cox says there could have been more because it seemed they had just harvested several plants. Cox says 60 plants can have make about $100,000 a year.

Cox says they found the growing operation after the home's electricity bill went up by 300 percent. They then flew over and used thermal imaging to see if there was a large heat source. Using that information they applied for a search warrant.

Three people were arrested on the scene and transported to the Hill County Law Enforcement Center. Their names and charges are pending an arraignment.

UPDATE: Three men were arrested after the raid at a Carl's Corner home Wednesday morning.

Police identified Nicolas Gilmore, Victor Gilmore, and James Kershaw as the three men arrested following the raid.
