Killeen Police make arrest after murder in IHOP parking lot

KILLEEN - Update: 11:24 p.m.: Killeen Police have arrested a man for stabbing his ex-girlfriend to death at an IHOP this morning. Police arrested that man just before noon Sunday.

Dozens of people gathered Sunday night to hold a candlelight vigil for 21-year-old victim Kirsten Nicole Farr.

Killeen investigators arrested 31-year-old Thomas Jeremy Jones in Nolanville. Jones was transported to the Bell County Jail. He's been charged with murdering his ex-girlfriend and his bond has been set at $1 million.

The stabbing happened around 3:14 a.m. Sunday morning in the parking lot of the IHOP located in the 700 block of Central Texas Expressway.

According to witnesses, the victim was in the passenger seat of a gold Cadillac with her current boyfriend, when her ex-boyfriend, Jones, approached the car and things quickly escalated.

Killeen Spokeswoman Carroll Smith describes how the stabbing happened.

"The ex-boyfriend apparently went over to the car; there was a verbal altercation which turned physical. He apparently stabbed her several times," says Smith.

Investigators say the suspect then took off from the restaurant.

The victim was rushed to Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center, where she later died. Her body is being transported to Dallas for autopsy.

Killeen PD is asking anyone who was at the IHOP between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m. Sunday morning, to contact them. Detectives investigating the murder of Kirsten Nicole Farr want to speak with witnesses who were at the IHOP at the time of the murder.

Those who were at the IHOP between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m. are asked to call Detective Uvalle at 254-501-8854.

Update, 5:09 p.m.: Killeen Police have made an arrest in the stabbing death of a woman outside an IHOP.

Thomas Jeremy Jones of Killeen was arrested at 11:53 a.m. at a home in Nolanville. Jones has been charged with murder.

He is currently in the Killeen City Jail awaiting arraignment.

The victim has been identified as 21-year-old Kirsten Nicole Farr.

Original Entry: Killeen Police are on the hunt for a man who stabbed his ex-girlfriend to death outside an IHOP Sunday morning.

At 3:14 a.m., police responded to a 911 call about a woman who had been attacked in the parking lot at 700 W CTE.

They found the 21-year-old woman suffering from multiple stab wounds and rushed her to Darnall Army Medical Center, where she died at 3:53 a.m.

Witnesses say the woman was a sitting in a gold Cadillac, when her 31-year-old ex-boyfriend walked up to her.

They got into an argument, and the man ended up pulling out a knife and stabbing her. Then, he fled.

Officers searched the area, but couldn't find the suspect.  If you have information about where he could be, police ask you to call Crime Stoppers at (254) 526-8477.

The woman's name is being withheld until next of kin is notified, and her body is being sent to Dallas for an autopsy.
