Aggravated robbery prompts Killeen investigation

KILLEEN - Killeen officers responded to a 911 call related to an aggravated robbery Sun., Feb. 16. The burglary took place at a house in the 1500 block of E. Vardeman Ave in Killeen. The caller reported that he and his niece were greeted by three armed males inside their residence.

One of the suspects demanded money from the homeowner. As the suspects fled, police say one of them fired a shot in the direction of the niece before joining the others in a black Chevy pickup. They fled north on Vardeman Drive. No one was injured.

The first suspect is believed to be a white or Hispanic male with a goatee. The second is described as a dark-skinned black male with a Mohawk, and the third, a light-skinned black male.

Detectives want anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 526-TIPS (8477) or report it online anonymously at www.bellcountycrimestoppers.com. People with tips can also text “BELLCO” along with the information to 274637. Data rates may apply. All information is confidential, and if your tip leads to the arrest of the suspect, you could receive a reward up to $1,000 in cash.
