Resident holds burglary suspect at gunpoint until police arrive

HARKER HEIGHTS - A 19-year-old burglary suspect was arrested after an area resident caught him in the act and held him at gunpoint until officers arrived on the scene.

Harker Heights police say Keegan James Jackson entered a home in the 300 block of Indian Oaks Dr., just before 11:30 p.m. Tuesday night, and was looking for items to steal.

The resident of the home was woken up by the noises the burglary suspect, later identified as Jackson, was making, and confronted Jackson with a gun. The resident held Jackson at gunpoint until officers arrived at the home.

Police found several items stolen from the home, all stuffed in a pillow case, on Jackson.

Jackson has been charged with burglary of a habitation, criminal mischief and possession of marijuana for the incident. Jackson also had outstanding warrants out of Brazos County for failure to identify. No bond has been set at this time.

Police are still investigating this incident and ask anyone with further information about this to call Harker Heights PD at (254) 953-5400.
