MCLENNAN COUNTY, TX (KXXV) - A 43-year-old man was arrested after a traffic stop turned into a chase and ended up with a sheriff's deputy being sent to the hospital.

Jared Wayne Questelle has been charged with aggravated assault of a public servant with a deadly weapon and felony evading arrest with a motor vehicle.

Matt Cawthon, with the McLennan County Sheriff's Office, says a deputy tried to stop the driver of a pickup about 2 a.m. Tuesday morning, near University Parks Dr. and I-35.

The driver of the pickup, later identified as Questelle, refused to get out. The deputy called for backup and a second deputy arrived on the scene. One of the deputies had a Taser trained on Questelle, when he put the truck in gear and sped off, possibly running over a deputy's foot. The deputy was transported to a hospital, treated and then released.

A chase then ensued down University Parks Dr. and went across the Brazos River on Franklin. The chase went to MLK, all the way to the airport, at which time Questelle slowed to a very low speed.

A deputy ran up to the truck and deployed a Taser to bring Questelle in. Deputies are not sure why he fled.
