Killeen fugitive arrested in Florida

KILLEEN, TX (KXXV) - A Killeen fugitive who fled Central Texas to avoid more drug charges was arrested Tuesday by U.S. Marshals in Sanford, Florida.

Nasser Assed, 52 was charged with possession of more than 200 grams of methamphetamine by a Bell County Grand Jury indictment in October 2013. He was later released on a $100,000 bond.

Earlier in February, Assed was charged again because of a criminal complaint in federal court in Waco, after Assed was again found with about a pound of meth.

Bell County Organized Crime Unit and Lone Star Fugitive Task Force members determined that Assed fled the Central Texas area. An investigation into his whereabouts revealed that Assed had fled to Central Florida.

The US Marshals Service’s Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Assed in Sanford, Florida at a motel on Tuesday. They were acting on information from the Waco Division’s Lone Star Fugitive Task Force.

He will be extradited back to Waco to face charges.
