Greg Abbott says state will support West

The Attorney General visited Waco Saturday night and answered a few questions on Central Texas stories.

Greg Abbott went to the Lee Lockwood Library on Waco Drive Saturday night for McLennan County Republican Party's "Love Your Country" gala. Abbott is amid a race with Wendy Davis for Texas governor.

Recently a Waco organization called for a boycott of Girl Scout Cookies because of a possible affiliation between the girl scouts and Wendy Davis. Abbott was asked what he thinks of the boycott.

"Well I don't know a whole lot about it. I assume it's just a part of the political process and it's one way for people to show they're feelings about a particular issue," Abbott said.

Abbott also touched on West. Abbott has been to the town multiple times since the April 17th explosion. He says if he's elected governor, the state will provide resources to make sure the town rebuilds.

"Second thing of course, we want to make sure nothing like this happens again. There are investigations that are ongoing that we will learn from and we can make sure we can implement corrected measures to ensure no one in no town ever has to go through that kind of devastation again," Abbott said.

Elections for the new governor will be on November 4.
