One man hurt after early morning, officer-involved shooting at Waco night club

WACO - One man is recovering from a gunshot wound after an early morning, night club shooting in Waco involving an off duty police officer.

Police responded to a discharge of a firearm call at Club Crush, located in the 1000 block of North 25th St., Sunday morning at 2:43 a.m.

When they got there, they found a man who had been shot in the leg. Officers say an argument first broke out inside the club, and shots ended up being fired. Then, another fight started right outside, and one man started shooting his gun.

An off duty police officer from Marlin was working security and shot the man in defense of others, police say.

The condition of the man who was shot is unknown, but he was taken to Providence Hospital.

Right now, the shots fired inside the club and outside the club are being investigated as separate incidents.

Waco’s Special Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Technicians are assisting in the investigation.
