Killeen student brings weapon onto campus

Killeen High School students brought home a letter today that would stop any parent in their tracks. The letter confirmed that a student brought a weapon onto campus. No one was injured, but parents were still upset.

The letter reads, "We received information of a student having a weapon on our campus." It continues to say, "Law enforcement officials took the student into custody and there was never a threat to student safety."

Sean Jacobs, a parent to a Killeen High School student aruges there was a threat and is not satisfied with the school's letter. "A letter that doesn't say anything of exactly what action was taken, what weapon it was, or why," said Jacobs. "There's been too many shootings around this country in schools, cinemas, mall. Something more needs to be done," said Jacobs. "And KISD ain't doing it."

We contacted the Killeen Independent School District and they could not confirm the type of weapon found or what grade the student was in.

The campus was not locked down.

KISD administrators urge parents to have their kids report anything that may create a safety concern.
