Drop boxes at Lampasas Post Office burglarized

LAMPASAS - Two drop boxes at a Lampasas Post Office were burglarized over the weekend and police suspect these burglaries are connected to other recent post office burglaries around Central Texas.

According to police, a post office in Lampasas was burglarized sometime between Saturday night and Sunday morning. Officers with Lampasas PD were called out to 1700 E 4th. St. after a person found that the two drop boxes outside the post office had been opened.

Officers found that the padlocks had been cut. Officers also found that several pickup boxes inside the post office had been opened, but post office staff said the pickup boxes inside were empty and nothing was taken.

Investigators with Lampasas PD are investigating this case. Police have not determined if this burglary is connected to several other post office burglaries around Central Texas, but they suspect that it is connected.
