Former Baylor football player found guilty of sexual assault charges

WACO, TX (KXXV) - A McLennan County jury has found former Baylor defensive end Tevin Sherard Elliott guilty of two counts of sexual assault.

The trial for Elliott began after jury selection on Tuesday. The punishment phase is set to begin at 1:45 p.m. Thursday afternoon.

Elliott was arrested back in April 2012 and indicted in McLennan County in Aug. 2012.

Elliott was found guilty of assaulting a woman at a South Waco apartment complex in the early morning hours of April 15, 2012, during a party.

He was suspended indefinitely from the football team after his arrest.
