Fort Hood soldier dies in wreck after leading police on chase in Bell County

BELL COUNTY - UPDATE: The Fort Hood soldier killed in a car wreck on Jan. 22 has been identified as 22-year-old Glenn Allen Moore, from Seminole, Florida.

A Fort Hood soldier died in a wreck after leading authorities on a high speed chase in Bell County early Wednesday morning.

According to Harpin Myers, a senior trooper with DPS, the chase started about 12:09 a.m. The car was checked speeding by Cove PD on US 190. DPS clocked the driver at 97 mph at one point during the chase.

The driver went south on Hwy 195, then headed west on Briggs Rd. The car crashed near Wolfridge Rd. and Briggs Rd. in Bell County. The car was out of control and struck a tree. The driver was killed on impact.

Myers says the driver is a Fort Hood soldier. He was pronounced dead at the scene by JP Garland Potvin. His name is being withheld until they notify next of kin.
