Ft. Hood murder suicide victims identified

FORT HOOD - The bodies of three military dependents, relatives of a soldier, were found in an on-post house Tuesday morning. The Fort Hood Public Affairs Office put out a statement that said a man and two children were found dead about 7:15 a.m. at a residence on Fort Hood.

Rouhad Ahamd Ezzeddine, 43, and daughters Leila Rouhad Ezzeddine, 9, and Zeinab Rouhad Ezzeddine, 4, were found dead.

Although the final determination has not been made and the investigation is still ongoing, early indications is that it was a tragic murder suicide involving the husband and the two children. Autopsies are being conducted by the Office of the Armed Forces Medical Examiner. No further information is being released at this time.

"This is a terrible tragedy for the mother and families of these children. We are doing everything possible to care for the family in this time of profound grief and loss," said Maj. Gen Anthony Ierardi, Ft. Hood Senior Commanding General 1st Cavalry Division.

The mother is Private 1st class Carla Santisteban, 33, and is assigned to 15th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division. Santisteban recently returned from deployment to Afghanistan.

Special Agents from U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command are investigating the deaths.

CID officials say there is no threat to the Fort Hood community at this time.
