Three more flu deaths reported in Central Texas area

CENTRAL TEXAS - Three more flu deaths have been reported in the Central Texas area, which now brings the total to six deaths in Central Texas linked to the flu.

Earlier this week, the McLennan County Health Department reported that a woman in her 60s died of influenza type A earlier in January.

The Bell County Health Department confirmed three deaths from the flu, including a 10-day-old and a Coryell County resident in his 60s. Coryell County has reported two deaths linked to the flu.

January and February are the peak months for the flu. Flu season started in October and goes through April.
