KILLEEN - Two area men have been arrested and charged with arson after police say they intentionally started a fire at a Killeen club to destroy evidence and security footage of a burglary that took place a couple weeks earlier.

William R. Twist, 34, of Killeen and Jacob H. Lugmayer, 20, of Fort Hood, have both been charged with arson for a fire at the Starlite Station, located in the 3300 block of S. Ft. Hood St. Their bond was set at $50,000 each. Twist is currently in the Bell County Jail and Lugmayer is set to be transferred there on Thursday.

According to the Killeen Police Department, the Killeen Fire Department was called out to the Starlite Station at 12:30 a.m. on December 17 for a fire.

The preliminary investigation showed that several fires were intentionally started in the building. There was fire damage to the manager's office and other spots received water damage.

The Killeen Fire Marshal’s Office and the Killeen Police Department Burglary Detectives later found out that the Starlite Station had been burglarized on December 3. Authorities say cash was taken from the club's safe during the burglary.

Twist and Lugmayer are accused of intentionally setting the fire on December 17 to destroy evidence and security footage from the December 3rd burglary.
