One dead in morning crash on Highway 6

ROBERTSON COUNTY, TX (KXXV) - A McLennan Community College student was killed in a two vehicle accident that occurred just before 7 a.m. Thursday morning, on Highway 6, near the Brazos and Robertson County line.

Authorities say 20-year-old Chelsea Jean Larsen, of Katy, was driving a 2005 Toyota northbound on Highway 6 Thursday morning, when she began to go off the road.

Authorities say she then overcorrected, and the car went into the southbound lanes. The car hit a Kenworth truck that was pulling a tanker trailer loaded with sorghum oil.

Larsen was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities say she was wearing a seat belt, but the car split and she was ejected from the car. The McLennan Community College student was coming to Waco for her job. The driver of the truck was not injured.

Both the north and southbound lanes were shut down for the investigation and clean up.
