Teenager Killed in Shooting, Suspect in Custody

KILLEEN, TX (KXXV) -

A 15-year-old boy in Killeen is dead and one man is in custody after a shooting Friday evening in Killeen.

Police were called to the 1200 block of Fox Creek Dr, after receiving a 911 call about a shooting about 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

According to police, the victim and the suspect were inside a dark Saturn when there was an altercation and a shooting.

The boy fled the vehicle after being shot, but immediately collapsed on the sidewalk. That is where police found him when they arrived.

He was taken to Darnall Army Medical Center, where he died an hour later from his injuries. An autopsy has been ordered to be performed at the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Science in Dallas.

Police are withholding the name of the man in custody until the Bell County District Attorney's Office reviews the case and files formal charges.

The victims's name is not being released due to his age.
